Love it, Anthony. The number of people who have written to me, insisting that they caught a cold from their sister’s husband or a fellow at the train station is frightening.

Like you, I’ve summarised the overall findings from clinical contagion attempts covering a century and more. All negative.

A sequence of people developing similar symptoms is consistent with contagion, but it’s NOT proof of it. When it’s specifically sought, it’s never found.

Folks, this means that, no matter how sure you feel that your sister’s husband “infected” you, that isn’t what happened.

There’s a long list of other possibilities. Try one of those. But meanwhile, away with the known to be wrong explanations.

My favorite is the so-called AIDS antibody where they invent "immunologic amnesia" as a reason why the antibodies do not work as predicted.
