Now I'm over 75 I have to see a doctor every year so I can drive a car. (Don't worry, I've got an e-trike in storage and a new cargo e-bike on the way. They can handle some miles of dirt, so I should be able to survive out in the bush without a license.) What's it like seeing a doctor after decades?
All I can say is that seeing a doctor now is like seeing a car salesman fifty years ago. They are ALWAYS CLOSING. I'm told that normal blood pressure and decades without so much as a sneeze make no good reason to refuse blood pressure meds and flu shots. As for that naughty cholesterol...
Do these people know how weird they sound? Do frequent patients lose their sense of the truly weird? Because your local doctor is weird.
On a sidenote, it’s amazing how no doctors teach patients about nutrition, about allergies, and how allergies and inflammation downstream cause depression…
It’s also amazing, how instead of prescribing an amino acid supplement that would directly convert to the neurotransmitter, serotonin and dopamine … they simply prescribe a pill that could kill you…
Medical malpractice I think is like the third largest killer in the United States …. I remember a while back there was a strike from doctors in the medical field and patient’s mortality rates dropped… let that sink in
I was chronically depressed as a child. Even into My teens and early 20's. The SSRI's were not available at the time (thank any powers that be in this universe!), and though They did try ritalin - which I took for three days, hated the feelings it gave and quit after 3 days - I just endured it.
Then, in My 20's, I was introduced to the book, Choice Theory, by William Glasser. In that book, Glasser suggested that depression was a choice! No way! I'm not responsible for all this depressing mess!
At first, I rejected the work completely. But then, as My sister kept pushing it, I decided to try what He suggested. Every time I noticed I was depressed, I asked Myself, "Why are You choosing to depress?" And sometimes I got an answer, other times not, but I would follow with, "Is there a better choice?"
I was rather surprised to find that the depression would lift at that point! But then, a short while later, the depression would return, and I would go through it again.
After a week of this, I was choosing to depress three or four times a day. After a month... Three or four times a week!
And at 6 months in? I quit choosing to depress completely. For 50ish years!
And yes... Every so often, in this hellish mess being created for Us by the moneyed psychopaths in control on Our planet (by virtue of money), I find an inkling of depression coming on. And then? "Why are You choosing to depress?" (I usually get answers!) "Is there a better choice?"
No depression.
So... SSRI's? Ghastly choice! Asking Oneself why the choice of depression and if there is a better choice? GOLD!
The dogs...Deliberate early death fostering policy in 'Care' Homes - no animals. No unconditional affection allowed. No tactile stimulation permitted. No motivation to care for another to be tolerated. The meds bots don't push for any of those. Nor for the opportunities to engage with and help young children. Helping them with reading, knitting, crochet, wood work, fixing things, making simple toys. Never that. Such a brutally uncaring, dedicated to death regime.
A series of queries on Chat GPT does admit a startling correlation between administration of antidepressants and hip and knee replacements over the pst 30 years or so... The usual riders of aging population, obesity, chronic pain etc. are given as the explanation and circular logic seems perfectly OK with AI.
If they're allowing the truth to come out about ssri's that means they probably have their replacement ready. You can't blame it all on the drs and the system when people remain obedient to the system and refuse to see what is right before their eyes. A close friend who by every by every social metric should be happier than me still isn't happy after 10 years of being on an SSRI/NRI (It targets both serotonin and norepinephrine). That tells me that the drug isn't working, I would want to taper off of it. But her Dr added a second drug. You can't ask AI bc it just throws all pharmas programming at you and manages to sound condescending while doing it.
I agree 100%! I just witnessed my mother in law go from depressed to full blown dementia in 6 months after her "doctor" prescribed an anti depressant. Yet my beau and I are somehow the only one's that can see what is going on. His family was already a bit blind to reality, but its hard to miss now. She cannot formulate whole thoughts and she's still depressed. We were going to move her into a condo but this prescription essentially sent her to the "community" with assisted living being the next quick stop. She's 75 and we just witnessed her quick demise - first mental and then death. I believe these anti depressants are the "first" drug putting boomers in essentially over priced metal care and then another miracle drug will be developed to help them not suffer. I mean, didn't Canada approve suicide - we're next but with a shiny new wrapping🤨
As ridiculous as your premise sounds, I am currently going through exactly the same scenario with my severely depressed sister-in-law following her sister's recent death. Her shrink put her on Seroplex and she had pretty much all the adverse effects. Shrink 's "solution"? Reduce the dosage. I sent her a number of articles including the drug's own insert and she finally twigged that she was basically being poisoned for nothing. We got her to speak with a renowned functional medicine doctor who looked at her bloods and explained the root causes of her ill being, in particular a severe thyroid disorder for which her prescription drugs were "totally useless" (except adverse effects of course).
you should read some Peter Gotzsche, Specifically "Deadly Medicine and Organized Crime" (2013). Also his complete CV and authored books https://www.deadlymedicines.dk/about/

I've just sent to a friend who is in the clutches of the medical system who prefer swopping/upping/adding drugs. None help with protocols to come off.
May Your friend find it helpful!!!
It's a rough move from blaming the world to accepting responsibility for what We choose to feel... I wrote an article about this, too:

(Reads title….then smiles)
“Well, looks like I’m about to have another thought crime”
Keep up the good work!
Yes! Then there are the anti-anxiety pills 😞
Blessings and appreciation from Sydney Australia.

Hello, do you remember "pack a sad" ?
Hi, no, not familiar with the term, did a quick search, appears to be Kiwi slang.
